We’re Being Failed In Small Ways Too

Yesterday I spent about five hours in my local utility office trying to argue that I wasn’t just trying to get a free outside garbage can. Mine has either been stolen or misplaced (by someone other than me.) And yet somehow I still don’t have a trashcan. I guess I’ll be hauling it off myself.

This reminded me of the complete mess in New Orleans during the last hurricane. People were without power, without garbage pickup, and completely trapped.

They dumped their trash at our “leader’s” mansions. As they should.
